About the Workshop
'Meditation and Contemplative Photography' is a two-day 2.5 hours in-person workshop in the park.
We will dedicate 60 minutes online (ZOOM session) on Sunday morning to talk about your experience, and feedback, and share some of your photography online. During these two days, we will meet in the Park and use both meditation and contemplative photography to reconnect and contemplate our relationship with nature and the planet. ​

*LOGISTICS
You are responsible for your own safety in this outdoor workshop; the instructor cannot be taken responsible for any incidents happening during this workshop. Please be sure to wear an adequate comfortable outfit, walking or running shoes, put on sunscreen, wear a hat, and bring plenty of water and a snack. If you have allergies, please remember to bring any necessary protections. A waiver will be sent to you when you subscribe to the workshop.

*AGENDA
Day 1 & Day 2 - Introduction to Contemplative Photography and Observing
15 minutes - mindfulness meditation practice and embodied experience.
15 minutes - intro contemplative photography foundations applied in nature.
120 minutes - Observe, explore and represent through contemplative photography.
After each session, please send two (2) pictures to the instructor that represent your embodied practice.

Day 3 - Online Sharing of Meditation and Contemplative Photography
60 minutes - Share your contemplative photography online (Zoom) and discuss your experience and feedback on the practices in nature.

**THIS WORKSHOP IS NOT art therapy or CCT, and it is not meant as a technical photography workshop.
This is not a substitute for training in Buddhist Psychology and Philosophy, Photography, or any mental health professions and creative art therapies.

Recommendations:

No artistic or photographic experience is needed.

No artistic or photographic material will be provided for this workshop. Bring your own camera.

You need your camera or cellphone for this workshop (airplane mode and WIFI removed).

Regular mindfulness and contemplative photography practice is preferred for this workshop but not mandatory.
Objectives:

Introduce contemplative photography practice (Miksang) to develop mindfulness and observation.

Explore and contemplate visual forms and perception of reality.

Cultivate a regular meditation and contemplative photography practice.
