This foundation certificate program provides a comprehensive survey of Buddhist-based embodied mind training, from the historical lineages of Indo-Tibetan and Zen Buddhism, Buddhist Psychology, mindfulness- and compassion-based interventions, and contemplative science to the inception of Contemplative Creative Therapy (CCT).
Beyond the psychology of mindfulness and compassion, the Buddhist tradition developed less-known contemplative and meditation training methods and techniques to help lay people in their everyday lives. As mindfulness becomes a household word, there is a growing interest among mental health professionals and the public at large in the traditional systems of Buddhist psychology, contemporary contemplative science, and somatosensory healing. This course puts the science and practice of contemplative creative science in the context of Buddhist psychology. It explains how contemplative creative science is most effectively understood and used to help our embodied mind embody the wisdom, awareness, creativity, and kindness that can make life freer, healthier, and happier, one moment, one day at a time.
Following a gradual curriculum developed at the Centre for Contemplative Creative Science, the program integrates essential aspects of modern Buddhist and Western psychologies into a unified CCT model and approach to understanding, training, and transforming the embodied mind. It is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program that will help promote the development of somatosensory skills and personal transformation.
This program is designed for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of contemplative creativity's therapeutic potential with holistic multimodalities and meditation. Participants will delve into the nuances of CCT, combining ancient wisdom with modern scientific research to develop an adjunct approach to supporting health and well-being across various populations and healthcare settings.
